Oscar-winning actor and THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS frontman Jared Leto, 53, is facing fresh scrutiny after nine women described a pattern of behaviour they call “predatory, terrifying and unacceptable” in an Air Mail report published on 7 June 2025.
The women—some of whom were under 18 at the time—say Leto first made contact in settings ranging from Los Angeles cafés to private Beverly Hills parties and online messages. One accuser recalls being 16 in 2006 when Leto allegedly grabbed her arm outside Urth Caffé, secured her phone number and then bombarded her with explicit late-night calls.
Model Laura La Rue tells a similar story: after meeting the actor at a 2008 charity event aged 16, she says their e-mail exchanges led to a 2009 visit to Leto’s home where he flirted and later, when she was 17, walked into the room naked. Another woman alleges that Leto began texting her while she was under-age; on reaching 18, she claims he exposed himself, forced her to touch him and demanded she spit on him.
Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz recently resurfaced a 2012 Facebook post, writing that Leto tried to force himself on her backstage when she was 17.
Several accounts reference Leto’s fan retreats—particularly Mars Island, a Croatian getaway that costs up to $6,499—where young female fans mingle with the star in a quasi-spiritual setting critics have likened to a cult.
A representative for Leto “expressly denies” every allegation, insisting that any communications were non-sexual and pointing to what they say is a lack of contemporaneous complaints; the spokesperson also labels Teilz’s claims “demonstrably false”. Leto himself has not made a personal statement.
