JOHN CORABI Doubts He’ll Be Included in MÖTLEY CRÜE’s Hypothetical Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

Former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi has addressed his potential inclusion in a future Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction for the band—and his answer was blunt.

In a recent interview on the Talk Louder podcast, hosted by veteran music journalist “Metal Dave” Glessner and hard rock vocalist Jason McMaster, Corabi was asked if he would attend the band’s hypothetical Hall of Fame ceremony. Corabi, who stepped in as MÖTLEY CRÜE’s frontman in 1992 following Vince Neil’s departure, didn’t mince words (as transcribed by Blabbermouth): “No. First of all, I can pretty much guarantee you I won’t be invited. So it just a no.”

Despite his exclusion, Corabi emphasized that he harbors no hard feelings toward most of the band members. “To be quite honest with you, I am fine with, obviously, [MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist] Mick Mars. Mick lives about 20 minutes from me [in Nashville],” he said. “So I’m fine with Mick Mars. If Vince Neil walked in here right now, we’d hug each other and probably sit down and have a cocktail together and shoot the fat for about two hours. I’m fine with Vince. Tommy [Lee, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer] and I communicate via text, and I don’t get to see him that often, but we still communicate via text. For some weird reason, and it’s really a one-sided kind of beef, Nikki‘s [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] got some weird hair up his a*s about all things John Corabi. And I don’t really have an issue with the guy. It doesn’t matter.”

Corabi recorded just one full-length album with MÖTLEY CRÜE, which has since been critically praised. Reflecting on his time with the band, he acknowledged that the spotlight isn’t his to claim. “So, I can pretty much guarantee it, a) I won’t be invited, and b), to be honest with you, I kind of learned my lesson doing that record. I am not a part of the… MÖTLEY is Nikki, Tommy, Vince and Mick. And anybody else that was involved or whatever, that’s great. But it’s their night, their moment, their thing.”

Corabi also joked about a personal Hall of Fame category of his own: “I am looking forward to when the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame does open a category. They have the platinum record category, the gold record category. I’m waiting for them to do the aluminum record category, because I have 19 consecutive aluminum records, and once they do that, I’m f**king first guy in, b**ches. First guy in.”
