JOURNEY were forced to cancel their scheduled appearance at the Stagecoach Festival on Saturday night after dangerous weather conditions led to an emergency evacuation at the festival grounds in Indio.

Strong winds swept through the area, prompting organizers to clear the venue as a precaution. Although fans were allowed to return roughly an hour later, the disruption ultimately resulted in Journey being removed from the revised schedule. Headliner Lainey Wilson still closed out the evening, albeit with a delayed start.

One attendee described the situation while speaking to the LA Times, highlighting how quickly conditions escalated: “The show was pretty windy when we got there, but we went into a saloon to see one of our friends do karaoke. When we came out, palm trees were like bending in half.”

JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon later addressed the cancellation on Facebook, making it clear the band had no control over the decision.

“We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Stagecoach Festival last night. We were truly looking forward to performing for you,” he wrote.

“The decision to evacuate and cancel the show was not made by us,” he clarified. “It was issued and communicated to our team during the emergency situation. The safety of our fans, crew, and everyone on site had to come first. We’re deeply sorry we couldn’t take the stage and share that moment with you. We appreciate your support, patience, and the incredible energy you bring every night.”

Keyboardist Jonathan Cain also shared his thoughts, posting a message to X in which he reiterated that the band had been ready to perform.

“We apologize to our fans who showed up at Stagecoach last night for the Journey show. The high winds were extremely dangerous for all and evacuation was the call. All our fans should know we were waiting and were ready to play.”

The canceled appearance comes amid JOURNEY’s ongoing “Final Frontier” tour, which is expected to continue in the coming days, with the next stop set for Las Vegas.
