KANSAS Bassist BILLY GREER Departs Band After Nearly 40 Years

Billy Greer Quits Kansas

After nearly four decades of dedicated service, bassist and co-lead vocalist Billy Greer has concluded his tenure with the iconic rock band KANSAS. The band and its entire organization express deep gratitude for Billy’s extraordinary musical contributions throughout his time with the group.

Billy joined KANSAS in 1985 and became an integral part of the band’s sound and legacy.

“For 39 years, Billy has been a loyal, dedicated, and immensely talented bandmate. He’s travelled around the world with us including USO tours,” says KANSAS original member Phil Ehart.

Original KANSAS guitarist Richard Williams adds: “[Billy] stood shoulder to shoulder with us through both the ups and the downs. His voice, both singing and emceeing, has been a constant with us on stage. The entire KANSAS family will miss him.”

Greer‘s departure will not affect any upcoming KANSAS performances. The band is excited to announce that a new bassist will be joining them soon.
