MEGADETH was already scheduled to play Rock In Rio festival on September 2nd, alongside IRON MAIDEN, DREAM THEATER and SEPULTURA in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but due to scheduling conflict with FFDP tour, MEGADETH‘s appearance is now cancelled.
After some fans express their disappointment, MEGADETH guitarist Kiko Loureiro wrote on one of his Instagram stories (via Whiplash): “Like everyone who bought the ticket, I was also very upset about this cancellation. RiR was the reason I played guitar. In ’91, I watched Megadeth from the audience… It would be an honor to play on the Mundo Stage. See you soon. Saudades do Brasil”, reads the text.
MEGADETH will release their 16th studio album, The Sick, The Dying, And The Dead, on July 8th. recently Mustaine revealed that Steve Di Giorgio played bass on upcoming album.
MEGADETH are currently on North American tour with co-headliners LAMB OF GOD along with special guests TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES. Remaining tickets and dates for “The Metal Tour Of The Year” can be found here.
