NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic has recently expressed interest in the idea of an ABBA-style avatar tour for the band.
In an interview with MOJO magazine, Novoselic stated that he is open to the possibility of a virtual reunion show, reminiscent of ABBA‘s iconic “Voyage” reunion.
As the band’s final album In Utero gears up for its 30th-anniversary deluxe reissue, Novoselic is also excited about the inclusion of some of their best live recordings in the reissue.
When talking about the live recordings, Novoselic said: “The shows rock. They need to be heard. Now with the AI, you can take a stereo mix and then break it down into a multitrack. So you can get really good mixes. They sound raw. And you get Kurt up there who’s just carrying the show. Amazing.”
As for a potentional reunion, he said: “You never know! I’ll say ‘no way’, then it’s like, ‘How much?? When do we start?!'”
For those who may not be familiar, ABBA has been revolutionizing the concert scene by “performing” as digital avatars for the past year. This virtual “tour” has been raking in an impressive sum of approximately $2 million each week.
