Modern metal giants LAMB OF GOD and MASTODON have joined forces for an electrifying new collaboration.
The track, “Floods of Triton,” had been eagerly anticipated following several teasers in recent days, and it’s now been released in full to mark the bands’ recent co-headlining North American tour.
On this tour, both groups performed their iconic albums in their entirety—MASTODON‘s Leviathan and LAMB OF GOD‘s Ashes of the Wake—which were both released 20 years ago and have since become genre-defining classics.
“Floods of Triton” unmistakably showcases the signature styles of both bands, but it’s MASTODON‘s fuzzy riffs that stand out right from the start, driving much of the track. LAMB OF GOD‘s Randy Blythe delivers his razor-sharp snarls, while MASTODON‘s Troy Sanders‘ distinctive roar provides the perfect counterbalance. The song’s final third also packs in a healthy dose of LOG’s signature groove, creating a dynamic and electrifying experience that’s sure to thrill fans of both groups.
