The legal dispute between Perry Farrell and his JANE’S ADDICTION bandmates has officially come to an end.
According to People, Farrell and fellow JANE’S ADDICTION members Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins have reached a settlement stemming from the singer’s onstage altercation with Navarro in September 2024 — an incident that ultimately led to the cancellation of the band’s reunion tour.
Court records show that the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles dismissed the lawsuit on Monday, December 22, formally closing the case.
The dismissal comes roughly one week after Farrell, Navarro, Avery and Perkins publicly announced that they had “resolved their differences” following the highly publicized onstage confrontation, which occurred during JANE’S ADDICTION’s September 13, 2024 show at Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston. That performance ended abruptly after Farrell confronted Navarro onstage, with the incident marking what would become the band’s final show together.
Earlier this year, Navarro, Avery and Perkins filed a lawsuit against Farrell alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract. Navarro also included claims of assault and battery related to the onstage incident. The suit alleged that the canceled tour resulted in losses exceeding $10 million.
Farrell later responded by denying wrongdoing and submitting multiple affirmative defenses, stating that he acted in good faith and without malice.
Earlier this month, the band issued a joint statement acknowledging that inaccurate claims had been made about Farrell’s mental health and confirming that they had come together “one last time to resolve our differences,” emphasizing their desire to protect the legacy of JANE’S ADDICTION. Farrell also released a separate apology, taking responsibility for his actions during the Boston show and expressing remorse to fans and his bandmates.
With the lawsuit now dismissed, the settlement appears to bring full legal closure to the dispute, allowing all four members to move forward separately while drawing a definitive line under JANE’S ADDICTION’s turbulent final chapter.
