Rivers, the longtime bassist and founding member of LIMP BIZKIT, passed away on October 18 at the age of 48. The band shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram: “Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat. Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”
Rivers co-founded LIMP BIZKIT in the mid-1990s and helped define the band’s signature Nu-Metal sound with hits like “Break Stuff,” “My Way,” and “Rollin’”. After stepping away from the band in 2015 due to serious health issues related to alcohol, he underwent a life-saving liver transplant and returned in 2018, remaining an active member until his death.
