LORDS OF ACID have unveiled “Dream Boy”, their second new single of 2026, offering fans another taste of what’s to come from the band’s long-awaited seventh studio album, due later this year. Following the recent release of “Karaoke Superstar”, the pioneering electronic act is once again pushing into darker, more provocative territory with a track the band describes as both haunting and deeply human.
According to the group, “Dream Boy” is “a dark trip through the streets of Necropolis, where addiction feels like salvation and nightmares wear a beautiful disguise.”
Built around a tense exchange between vulnerability and temptation, the song features a gripping vocal performance from Carla Harvey, whose presence adds another layer of intensity to the track. Harvey — best known for her work with BUTCHER BABIES — joined LORDS OF ACID in early 2025 and has since embraced her role as the band’s new “Acid Queen.”
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, LORDS OF ACID shared: “‘Dream Boy’ isn’t about judging addiction. It’s about understanding the pain, loneliness and emptiness that drive people toward it in the first place. We wanted the verses to feel raw and claustrophobic, almost like a panic attack, while the reggae-inspired chorus drifts like a hallucination you never want to wake up from. The line ‘Dream boy, keep on floating in the sun’ sounds warm and beautiful at first, until you realize it’s about somebody slowly disappearing in plain sight. It is one of the darkest songs we have ever written, but underneath the shadows there’s still a message of human connection, desire and the search for a real high that doesn’t destroy you.”
“Dream Boy” arrives on the heels of “Karaoke Superstar”, the band’s tongue-in-cheek collaboration with Princess Superstar that showcased LORDS OF ACID in full theatrical mode, blending industrial, metal, and acid-dance influences with their signature provocative edge.
Both tracks are set to appear on the band’s upcoming seventh album, which is expected in late 2026 and will reportedly feature several notable guest vocalists alongside Harvey.
Meanwhile, LORDS OF ACID remain active on the road, currently making their way across the U.S. on the “Cheeky Freaky Tour”, which continues through the end of May.
