CAVALERA is now synonymous with extreme metal music, a name that remains highly regarded to this day, a family legacy built on decades of musical aggression. In 2023, Max and Iggor Cavalera have achieved what some thought was impossible; they revisited their earliest releases, Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation , and re-recorded them with bone-crushing intensity. A risk few would dare even attempt, yet they artfully and productively achieved their distinctive raw sound in a way that could only be described as magic or time travel.

It seems the ball won’t stop rolling as they now enter the final chapter of their early work trilogy. Schizophrenia is an iconic album in terms of early thrash and death metal, a term for those of us interested in extreme metal. Here the Cavaleras refined their dark, dirty, speed-influenced songs into something more mature, developed and technical. Decades later, they have once again unlocked the asylum that is Schizophrenia, opening the doors to this banished, twisted recording, unleashed on June 21st via Nuclear Blast Records.

The first taste of the new release comes in the form of the live music video for the single “Escape To The Void.” Fans will enjoy footage of Costin Chioreanu & Olivia Chioreanu filming the band’s chilling performance at the 013 Venue in Tilburg, Netherlands, 2023.

Max Cavalera says, “The Third World trilogy is finally complete with SchizophreniaBestial Devastation and Morbid Visions – all three Brazilian underground gems! For me, Schizophrenia is the ultimate death/thrash experiment! I was inspired to challenge the world, and this recording shows my tireless commitment. This is for all generations to enjoy! Play it at maximum volume!
