Max Cavalera has announced the heartbreaking passing of his stepdaughter, Christina.
The longtime SOULFLY and former SEPULTURA frontman shared the news via social media, revealing that Christina passed away after a battle with illness. In his message, Max, along with Gloria and the entire Cavalera family, paid tribute to her life, legacy and impact on the music world.
Max wrote: “It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that Max and Gloria and the entire Cavalera family announce the passing of their beloved daughter, sister, and mother Christina. After an enduring battle with illness, she has found peace with her two sons, Adam and Moses, and her brother Dana. She is survived by her two daughters, six brothers, (Nick, Jonathan, Richie, Jason, Zyon and Igor) and her sister Roxanne. Forever will Christina be remembered as a pioneer in the metal, punk and rock music world, as she worked from the underground to stadiums and arenas around the globe, as well as a lifelong inspiration and forerunner for women in the music business. She had a smile that could brighten any room, a passion for life that was unmatched, and a ferocity of spirit that made her remarkable and memorable. Those who met her know this to be true. We will miss you until the end of days Christina. Please be respectful of our peace and privacy during this difficult time, and our journey forward without her.”
We extend our condolences to Max, Gloria and the entire Cavalera family during this incredibly difficult time.
