Megadeth Tipping Point Live

MEGADETH are inviting fans around the world to experience their history and final chapter in an unprecedented way with Megadeth: Behind The Mask, a global cinematic legacy event arriving Thursday, January 22, 2026—just one day before the release of the band’s final studio album on January 23.

Created in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, the film will screen in over 1,000 cinemas across more than 35 countries, making it one of the most expansive theatrical events ever tied to a metal album release. Tickets go on sale December 11 at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. GMT / 3 p.m. CET, accompanied by a brand-new trailer premiering the same day.

Fans can find participating theaters and sign up for updates at megadethfilm.com.

In Megadeth: Behind The Mask, Dave Mustaine opens up like never before, revisiting four decades of musical breakthroughs, personal battles, lineup changes, and the unrelenting creative spirit that defined MEGADETH. The film delivers previously unheard stories, archival reflections, and a 40-year retrospective career-spanning interview with Mustaine as he guides viewers through the band’s evolution.

Most notably, the film includes the world premiere of MEGADETH’s new and final studio album, Megadeth, played in full for the first time anywhere. The cinematic format transforms the listening experience into something immersive and intimate, with Mustaine sharing track-by-track commentary and the inspirations behind the album.

“This listening event is going to be amazing,” Mustaine says. “I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world. I have so much gratitude for everyone who helped bring this film to life, especially you, the fans! Now let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”

Kymberli Frueh, EVP of programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, adds: “We’re thrilled to bring fans together for an exclusive first listen to MEGADETH‘s final studio album — that brings their career full circle. This isn’t just another MEGADETH album: it features a bold reimagining. This cinema event is a celebration of the riffs, the intensity and the uncompromising spirit that have defined MEGADETH‘s legacy. We can’t wait to share this moment with the fans who’ve been with them every step of the way.”

The global screening arrives on the eve of what will be one of the most significant years in MEGADETH history. In addition to the final album, the band recently announced new headlining dates for their 2026 European farewell tour, including stops in Gelsenkirchen, Luxembourg, Zurich, Vienna, Istanbul, and Almaty—alongside major festival appearances and a support slot for Iron Maiden in Hanover on June 2.

The cinematic event also follows news of the band’s exclusive $950 pre-listening party taking place January 17, 2026 in La Vergne, Tennessee, offering fans an intimate, all-day immersive experience with the band, from an acoustic set to a master class and more.
