Thrash metal legends MEGADETH have announced two new summer headlining shows in Wisconsin, adding another pair of dates to their ongoing farewell touring schedule.
The band will perform at the Oktoberfest Grounds in La Crosse, Wisconsin on July 31, followed by a show at Capital Credit Union Park in Green Bay on August 1.
Tickets will first be available to members of the group’s Cyber Army fan club, with an exclusive presale launching on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. CST. A second presale will then take place on Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time, before general on-sale begins on Friday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The newly announced dates arrive as MEGADETH continues its farewell touring cycle, which began earlier this year alongside the release of the band’s self-titled final studio album. The farewell tour itself was first revealed last August, when the band also confirmed plans for what was billed as its final studio record.
That album, released earlier this year, marked a major milestone for the group, debuting at No. 1 in the United States—its first-ever chart-topping release. It moved 73,000 equivalent album units in its opening week, including 69,000 in pure sales, according to Luminate.
While the album may mark the closing chapter of MEGADETH’s studio output, fans shouldn’t expect the live farewell to conclude overnight. Mustaine previously told Kerrang! that the tour could stretch on for “another three to five years,” giving audiences plenty of opportunities to see the thrash icons before they finally step away.
