METALLICA Fans Arrested For Trespassing After Scaling Tower During Perth Concert

Two METALLICA fans found themselves in hot water after pulling a dangerous stunt at the band’s November 1 concert at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.

According to local reports, a 20-year-old man from Carey Park and a 23-year-old man from Australind were arrested and charged with trespassing after allegedly climbing a central tower inside the stadium during the sold-out show.

Footage shared by 10 News captured the shirtless men perched high above the crowd as police officers urged them to come down. The pair were eventually escorted from the venue and are expected to appear in court for the incident.

“It will be alleged the men climbed up the central tower inside the bowl at the METALLICA concert held at Optus Stadium on Saturday,” a Western Australia Police spokesperson told News.com.au.

The Perth concert marked METALLICA’s first Australian performance in over a decade, with support from EVANESCENCE and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. More than 60,000 fans packed the venue for the highly anticipated return of the heavy metal icons.

METALLICA’s Australian tour continues at Adelaide Oval on November 5, followed by stops at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium (November 8), Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium (November 12), and Sydney’s Accor Stadium (November 15). The trek will wrap up in Auckland, New Zealand, at Eden Park on November 19.

The band last performed in Australia as headliners of the Soundwave Festival back in 2013.
