METALLICA Fans Get More Than They Bargained For With ROBERT TRUJILLO ‘Funko Pop!’ Packaging Error

Robert Trujillo Live 2025

METALLICA fans expecting a straightforward collectible experience recently got an unexpected twist when receiving the new Robert Trujillo “Funko Pop!” figures. Part of the merchandise rollout celebrating the band’s latest album, 72 Seasons, and its global tour, the 3.75-inch vinyl figures are now showing up with packaging that has left fans scratching their heads.

Though the Trujillo figure itself matches the advertised product, many buyers have discovered that their boxes were emblazoned with images and branding for Jimmy Valmer, the animated “South Park” character first introduced in 2001.

Photos of the mismatched boxes have flooded online fan forums, particularly among those who ordered through Amazon. On a Facebook group dedicated to the band’s current tour, fan Josh Reubenking recounted his experience, as reported by Loudwire:

“I honestly thought it was funny,” he said. “Amazon let me keep it and I have a replacement coming soon. (Hopefully correctly packaged).”

This unusual packaging snafu isn’t the only issue plaguing the 72 Seasons Funko line. Reports indicate that while some fans received the Trujillo figure correctly packaged, others who purchased the full set of band members found the bassist entirely missing. Another buyer even claimed that their Lars Ulrich figure arrived without any box at all.

As of now, Funko has not issued an official statement addressing the widespread packaging errors. Despite the mishaps, the Robert Trujillo figure is still available for purchase via Amazon through the official Funko store, priced at $25.99.
