Monument of Misanthropy – Vile Postmorten Irrumatio Review

Well, first of all, I couldn’t agree more with the band name Monument of Misanthropy. I, myself, have my beef aganist humankind especially when it comes to the way we’re treating this sad and lonely and pathetic little planet. It’s not right. We don’t have the right to do what we’re doing after all this is our home and the only place in this universe that there is Heavy Metal. Good point, huh? Besides that the pungent blend of Extreme Metal elements in their music makes me wanting to listen much more.

Second of all, “Vile Postmorten Irrumatio” commences with a disturbing speech called “First Time It Makes You Sick to Your Stomach” where Ed Kemper – the sicko persona whose history Monument of Misanthropy chose to include in this concept album – tells his first feelings about initiating with necrophilia – yuk! His speeches are all around the album and work as intros to some songs as some weird interviews with all kind his insane and disgusting habits. Their tittles are introduction to the subject of the song as “Why Did You Keep Their Heads” is to “Manipulating the Experts.” Ironically or not, all the tracks where there is this kind of intro are the sickiest and fastest of them all. In “Oh, I Suppose You’re Gonna Want Sit Up and Talk All Night Now” Kemper describes how he killed his mother. No, not only killed, beheaded his mother. Wasn’t he a cutie pie?

Musicwise I feel a lot of Sepultura in the band’s music mainly in how they build their guitar riffing. I feel a strong presence of “Arise” in here. Of course, as it would be expected, as a Brutal Death Metal band they go very far in terms of speed and disgusting. Take a close look at the guitar riffings of “Manipulating the Experts.” and tell what you think. And how about “Pueblo Paranoia” whose vocals reminds a lot Max Cavalera’s?

The themes in “Vile Postmorten Irrumatio” are for the strong at heart and stomach, but great music though.
