It is no secret I love Symphonic Power Metal. If it is with female vocals the better. I have always loved female vocals on Rock and Metal. I was crazy about “Blondie,” a band that I quote every now and then here. I do remember how crazy I got at the first time I listened to “The Runaways.” I still listen to “Cherry Bomb“ and “School Days“ – I watched them all while getting these video links.
Moonlight Haze and Metal Addicts do have a history. “Interstellar Madness” is the fifth album we have the pleasure of reviewing. Coincidentally, this is their fifth album, so, we have reviewed all their albums so far. Not an easy thing, I’ll tell you. This is such an honor, believe me. The albums are 2019s “De Rerum Natura,” 2020s “Lunaris,” 2022s “Animus,” and 2025s “Beyond.”
The main thing that attracted me to Moonlight Haze‘s music besides Chiara Tricarico’s voice is their rough approach to Symphonic Metal. The band’s music is pretty heavy and strong at the point that sometimes the orchestrations and classical music features are at the background to let the guitars speak up. Of course, there are tracks as “Interstellar Madness: Finale” whose Progressive Metal approach talks louder, but they are not the rule, they are exceptions.
“Interstellar Madness” is opened by the blasting “Moonlight Legion” that gathers all the great features of Symphonic Metal plus the aforementioned aggressive approach even though the guitars are not that loud as expected here. Here Moonlight Haze exercises their ability to build singalong songs with strong choruses. as always, Chiara Tricarico’s voice is at its peak. The band made a step back to Power Metal’s basics with Lost in “Moonlit Symphonies” that delivers that insane double bass drumming. The loud and strong guitars come back with “We Are Fire” that starts as the warcry goes evolving into the music. This song addresses a little to Syren’s Call, another Symphonic Metal band with female vocals I met before I started writing here. One fun fact of this track is that at moments it is possible to listen to that noise of the guitar picks hitting the pickups. Tittle tracks “Interstellar Madness“ adds some flutes and ethereal effects to the dough keeping the strong guitars. It is the most operatic track of the album.
It wsa an honor reviewing one more Moonlight Haze‘s album. Hoping to make it a habit.
“Interstellar Madness” Moonlight Haze will be released on May 22nd via Scarlet Records.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
