Legendary IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain has returned to the stage for the first time since announcing his retirement from the iconic heavy metal band.

On January 25, McBrain performed at a benefit concert for HomeSafe, a nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and domestic violence. The event, part of HomeSafe’s annual Classic Rock & Roll Party, took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Fans in attendance witnessed McBrain’s electrifying performance, marking a special moment in his career post-IRON MAIDEN. Check out video footage of his appearance below.

“I fell in love with the whole organization [after being introduced to it around 2005],” McBrain told Sun-Sentinel.com. “I had a wonderful childhood growing up in North London, and I think every child deserves to have caring people around them to nurture their abilities and help them go out and have a fulfilled life.”

Nicko McBrain, 72 announced his retirement on December 7, 2024. The news was shared in a statement on the band’s official website and social media channels. McBrain also revealed that the band’s concert at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, that same evening would be his final performance with IRON MAIDEN.

Although stepping away from touring, McBrain assured fans he will remain closely connected to IRON MAIDEN, contributing to various projects with the band while also focusing on personal endeavors and his ongoing business ventures.

On December 8, IRON MAIDEN introduced Simon Dawson as their new touring drummer. Dawson, a seasoned session drummer, is also a longtime collaborator of Steve Harris in BRITISH LION.
