OLD MAN’S CHILD Performs Live For First Time In 25 Years (Video)

Old Man's Child Live Sweden Rock Festival 2025

OLD MAN’S CHILD has made a triumphant return to the stage, performing live for the first time in 25 years at this year’s Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg on June 6, 2025.

The long-awaited comeback saw mastermind Galder, also known for his former role as guitarist in DIMMU BORGIR, leading the charge with a ferocious set that reignited the band’s signature melodic black metal energy.

This marks a significant new chapter for OLD MAN’S CHILD, who are now preparing for another historic milestone: their first-ever U.S. appearance at the upcoming Fire In The Mountains Festival, taking place July 25–27, 2025, at the newly relocated Red Eagle Campground in Glacier, Montana, in collaboration with the Blackfeet Nation. Billed as North America’s premier open-air heavy music festival, Fire In The Mountains combines immersive wilderness camping with stunning performances set against the majestic Rocky Mountains, alongside art, workshops, and cultural education.

The resurgence of OLD MAN’S CHILD follows Galder’s official departure from DIMMU BORGIR in August 2024, a decision he described as the result of “years of careful reflection,” in order to fully dedicate himself to his long-running solo project.

OLD MAN’S CHILD‘s latest studio album, Slaves of the World, was released in 2009 via Century Media Records.
