OLI SYKES Struck In The Head By Fan’s Phone During BRING ME THE HORIZON Show In St. Louis

Oli Sykes Got Hit By A Phone

British rockers BRING ME THE HORIZON had an unexpected and concerning moment during their concert Monday night in St. Louis when frontman Oli Sykes was struck by a phone allegedly thrown from the crowd.

The incident took place at the Enterprise Center as the band was wrapping up “Happy Song,” the fourth track of the evening. As Sykes moved across the stage, the phone appeared to hit him in either the head or chest before falling to the ground directly in front of him.

Clearly caught off guard, Sykes stopped the performance momentarily, picked up the device and addressed the crowd, asking: “Who the f**k just threw a phone?” He then looked at the phone, handed it off to security near the stage, and added: “Cheers, though, that was sick.”

While the show continued, several fans later shared their concerns about the singer’s condition. One concertgoer claimed Sykes seemed noticeably hesitant to walk down the catwalk that extended into the audience following the incident. Another attendee said the vocalist later admitted he felt “dizzy” after being hit and was repeatedly reaching toward his head throughout the remainder of the performance. A separate fan alleged that “his temple was swollen and scratched up pretty bad.”

Despite the unsettling moment, BRING ME THE HORIZON are pressing ahead with their current North American run, which continues Tuesday in Kansas City before stops in St. Paul and Chicago. The trek is scheduled to wrap up this weekend with a headlining appearance at Sonic Temple in Columbus.

Following the U.S. dates, the band will shift focus to a packed European festival schedule before returning to North America this fall for the “POST HUMAN: NeX GEn – THE THIRD ASCENSION PROGRAM,” with the upcoming leg expected to focus heavily on Canada.
