Today we’re traveling to a very, but very, distant place in space and time. It’s not a secret that we like to review bands with a sonancy sometimes far from Metal music, however, with ingredients that Metal bands like so far, or, at least, have been inspiration to many of them. The space and ethereal mood Øresund Space Collective explore here isn’t exactly new. We’ve been having a great deal of bands that search for this kind of experience in their music. In fact, the news here is the mix of Jazz, Prog Rock, and, Led Zeppelin – this one the most unexpected. It’s due to these elements that the trip is in time as well because my musical memory was triggered by them, especially by the jazzy elements and, of course, Led Zeppelin one of the forefathers of metal music even though the controversy their name arises when it comes to Metal music origins.
Ok, about the album “Orgone Unicorn” whose tittle rises the eyebrows as orgone means (in the theory of Wilhelm Reich) a supposed sexual energy or life force distributed throughout the universe that can be collected and stored (in an orgone box) for therapeutic use. Orgone plus Unicorn then you, my dear child of the night, do the math. First thing that arises is the length of the album and the tracks within the incredible average of twenty minutes each, except for “Red Panda in Rhodes,” which is only three minutes long. “Orgone Unicorn” is more of two hours of a musical orgy – I guess orgy is the appropriate term. Another curio is that all the tracks follow some kind of nonsense tittles as it was very common in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. By the way, all tracks are instrumental.
Well, I did here one thing I had never done as I broke my rule of listening to all albums in its entirety. l heard only album warmer “Skin Walker” and its following “Enos Donut” – what this means I really don’t know. Both are pretty different when it comes from inspiration. The first “Skin Walker” follows a jazz tradition of instrumental song with the guitar leading the main tittle. The second “Enos Donut” is much more of Yes descent with all the guitar effects and ethereal moods. Both tracks follow the band’s space driven aesthetic what gives them a very pleasant mood making them very nice to hear.
“Orgone Unicorn” is a very unique album for all the aforementioned. It’s a musical travel into time and space. My dear fan will find it many aspects Metal bands like to use in their music. It’s not a groundbreaking album, but it looks great in the picture.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
