Other Musicians To Perform For OZZY OSBOURNE At His Rock Hall Induction

Ozzy Osbourne 2023

Ozzy Osbourne‘s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is set for October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, OH. The event will feature several vocalists performing Osbourne‘s songs, though it seems that Osbourne himself will not take the stage.

In an interview on The Allison Hagendorf Show, TOOL‘s Maynard James Keenan seemed to confirm that Osbourne will not be singing. Keenan described the situation as “depressing” since other singers will step in for Osbourne, but also noted that the experience remains an inspiring opportunity.

Keenan said: “Yeah, I mean, it’s, if I’m being honest, mixed feelings. ‘Cause I’m having to come in, and a couple of other people are coming in, to sing for him, which is depressing, to have to sing for him. But that we’re able to step up and help him in this induction is inspiring. I’m glad I got the call. I’m sure a bunch of people got the call, but I think I responded first.”

On the opportunity to sing Osbourne‘s material, Maynard said: “It’s terrifying — extremely terrifying. Yeah, ’cause this is for him, and his song is out of my range. So I’m gonna be struggling to hit the notes, but I got the call and so I answered.”

The musicians scheduled to perform at Osbourne‘s Rock Hall induction include:

  • Billy Idol
  • Maynard James Keenan
  • Jelly Roll
  • Zakk Wylde
  • Andrew Watt
  • Steve Stevens
  • Wolfgang Van Halen
  • Robert Trujillo
  • Chad Smith

At the age of 75, Ozzy has scaled back his demanding tour commitments in the past few years, grappling with the challenges posed by Parkinson’s disease and undergoing surgery following a fall.

In July of last year, the iconic BLACK SABBATH singer had to cancel his scheduled performance at the Power Trip festival due to persisting physical issues.
