OZZY OSBOURNE Was Quietly Hospitalized Two Weeks Before His Final Show

Ozzy No Escape From Now Trailer

In a deeply emotional episode of The Osbournes Unfiltered podcast — the first since Ozzy Osbourne’s passing — Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne opened up about the final months of the late BLACK SABBATH legend’s life, revealing that the Prince of Darkness was secretly hospitalized just two weeks before his last-ever concert.

Ozzy, who passed away in July at the age of 76, took the stage one final time with BLACK SABBATH at Villa Park in Birmingham — just 17 days before his death. While fans celebrated the moment as a triumphant farewell, few knew the extent of the health battles Ozzy was facing behind the scenes.

According to Jack, his father’s condition began to worsen in early December of last year. “Things started getting worse,” he said. “He took a little fall.” Though Ozzy had long been open about his ongoing struggles with Parkinson’s disease and other medical issues, the family kept many details private during his final months.

Later in the episode, the Osbournes revealed that Ozzy was actually hospitalized just two weeks before his final show — something that was never made public at the time. Sharon recalled the tense effort to keep his hospital stay a secret, sharing a story that mixed anxiety with a touch of dark humor.

“The story, I don’t think even you know it,” Sharon said to Jack. “We had him in the hospital and we were just terrified that people were going to find out. So we had all the security and the hospital – the hospital was amazing, they really were – the people at the front desk were told ‘nobody, if they ask for Ozzy, he’s not here. Nobody’s allowed up,’ all of that. They had pictures of all of us who were allowed up, and names, and this guy comes up and says ‘I want to see John Osbourne [Ozzy’s legal name]’ so of course there’s a red light and they go ‘who are you?’ and he goes ‘I’m his brother.’”

Sharon continued, laughing as she recalled the confusion: “So they call up to the security, and they say ‘Ozzy’s brother is here,’” she said. “‘He’s asked to see him. He knows he’s here.’ I’m like, there’s no way, his brother doesn’t even know he’s in here. His sisters, his brother didn’t know. So I sent security down and I said ‘find out who this guy is, he’s definitely from the press.’”

“They’re not the most polite in the world, they’re the most threatening. This guy kept saying ‘He’s my brother, he knows I’m coming.’ After harassing this poor man, there was [another] John Osbourne in the hospital, and it was his brother. We felt so terrible.”

The Osbournes didn’t disclose why Ozzy was hospitalized that time, but the revelation sheds new light on just how determined the metal icon was to take the stage one last time — even in the face of serious health challenges.
