PANTERA’s Concert In Vienna Cancelled As Well

Phil Anselmo Performs Pantera Classics

PANTERA‘s concert in Austria this spring has been canceled following an outcry over singer Philip Anselmo‘s previous racist remarks.

The newly-reformed group — composed of Anselmo and Rex Brown along with Zakk Wylde from OZZY OSBOURNE and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, and Charlie Benante from ANTHRAX — was slated to take the stage at Vienna’s Gasometer on May 31st for their Spring/Summer 2023 European Tour. However, today (Wednesday, January 25th), Barracuda Music and Mind Over Matter Music released a statement on social media announcing their decision to cancel the show. They concluded the statement with, “All tickets can be refunded at their point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding.”

Neither Barracuda Music nor Mind Over Matter Music gave an explanation for why they had to cancel the event, but most of the attendees posting on the promoters’ Facebook page speculated that it was the same reason PANTERA‘s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park gigs were scrapped in Germany earlier this week.
