PARADISE LOST has officially announced the return of Jeff Singer to the drummer’s seat.
Singer, who previously played with PARADISE LOST from 2004 to 2008, expressed his excitement in a heartfelt statement: “When I got a call asking if I would drum for PARADISE LOST again it was clear the time was right and we could actually make this happen. Nothing could make me prouder. Firstly, the band, management and fans have always made me feel part of the family and secondly as a fan of the band it is a dream and something I have thought about a lot over the years. PARADISE LOST are in my blood. I can’t wait and am so excited to get out there with the lads playing the songs I love and meeting our amazing loyal fans again.”
The announcement follows the band’s recent decision to part ways with drummer Guido Zima, who had joined PARADISE LOST in 2023 after Waltteri Väyrynen’s departure to OPETH. The band shared in a statement: “We’ve made the difficult creative decision to part ways with our drummer, Guido Zima. We thank Guido for his contributions to the band and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We appreciate your continued support and understanding, and we’re looking forward to the next chapter with the band.”
PARADISE LOST recently wrapped up their “The Devil Embraced” mini-U.S. tour in May, which featured appearances at Milwaukee Metal Fest and Maryland Deathfest. Looking ahead, the band has announced a European tour set for later this year, with support from MESSA, HIGH PARASITE, and LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE.
In addition to the lineup news, fans can also look forward to new music. PARADISE LOST’s upcoming album—their first since 2020—has completed recording, though it’s not fully mixed yet. Guitarist Aaron Aedy teased fans in a recent interview: “It’s not fully mixed yet, but it’s recorded.”
When pressed for details about the sound of the new record, Aedy replied: “No. It’s like opening your presents before Christmas. No, I don’t wanna go into the new album too much just yet, ’cause I’ll wait to see what it’s like when it’s mixed. It’s almost finished, but not quite.”
