PAUL RODGERS Withdraws From BAD COMPANY Rock Hall Reunion Over Health Concerns

Paul Rodgers

Legendary rock singer Paul Rodgers has announced that he will not be attending BAD COMPANY’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend due to ongoing health issues.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 8, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Last week, drummer Simon Kirke confirmed that he and Rodgers planned to perform two songs together at the event alongside other musicians.

However, the 75-year-old vocalist released a statement on Monday, November 3, confirming he would be stepping back.

“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritise my health,” Rodgers said “I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thank you for understanding.

Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me – guaranteed to rock.”

Born in Middlesbrough, Rodgers has battled serious health challenges over the past decade, including a major stroke in 2016 and a second stroke three years later. Following the second incident, he underwent a carotid endarterectomy, a procedure to remove fatty deposits from the carotid artery, which supplies oxygen-rich blood to the brain, face, and neck.

BAD COMPANY will be honoured in the performer’s category at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside SOUNDGARDEN, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OUTKAST, and THE WHITE STRIPES.

Additionally, SALT-N-PEPA and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award – previously known as the Sidemen Award, which JUDAS PRIEST was presented with in 2022.
