Paul Vario – Stormbringer

stormbringer  When you think of a band that performs straight heavy metal that sounds kick ass a few names come to mind which I won’t name at the moment. For me though, Paul Vario wasn’t one of them about 20 minutes ago but now he definitely is with his brand new EP “Stormbringer” having some awesome heavy metal on it that every fan of it should enjoy to no end. Paul Vario, as you might have guessed already, is a solo artist who does all the music in his work by himself which with in the case of “Stormbringer” being the bass-driven rhythms, soaring guitar melodies and atmospheric keyboards/synthesizers. There are only 4 tracks on this album and 20 minutes in total, but that does not mean that Paul Vario doesn’t use them to their full potential as each song is spot on fantastic and as unique as it gets. I can’t say that I’m in love with “Stormbringer” though, but I can definitely see how talented and well done this EP is and applaud it because of that. It is a very solid EP that is surely the beginning steps to something much bigger for Paul Vario.
