QUEEN’s BRIAN MAY Suffers A Stroke

QUEEN guitarist Sir Brian May has disclosed that he recently experienced a minor stroke, which initially impaired his ability to use his left arm.

Despite this, the 77-year-old rock icon has since recovered and regained sufficient movement to resume playing music.

“The good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days,” he said in a video posted on his website.

“I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago, and what they called it was a minor stroke.

“All of a sudden – out of the blue – I didn’t have any control over this arm. It was a little scary, I have to say. I had the most fantastic care and attention from the hospital where I went, blue lights flashing, the lot, it was very exciting. I might post a video if you like.”

“I didn’t wanna say anything at the time because I didn’t want anything surrounding it, I really don’t want sympathy,” he continued. “Please don’t do that, because it’ll clutter up my inbox, and I hate that. The good news is I’m OK.”

May added, “Not allowed to have planes flying over, which will stress me,” he said, glancing up at a plane flying noisily overhead, before concluding: “But I’m good.”

May has faced health challenges before, including a heart attack that was ultimately linked to arterial disease. The guitarist revealed to fans that he was “very near death” when he was hospitalized in May 2020, where doctors discovered that three of his arteries were blocked and at risk of cutting off the blood supply to his heart.
