Savage Mania – Demonic Assault Review

Yes, Thrash metal is still alive, and believe me, still making a lot of fuzz. That is exactly what my dear fan will realize with this full of personality “Demonic Assault” of the newbies Savage Mania whose members were only projects in the 1980s, the golden era of Thrash Metal. It is this kind of thing that makes Metal music so wonderful and appreciated.

To say “Demonic Assault” is a trip to the past is kind of redundant as the album cover and its tittle do it already. But that is the charm of it, if you know what I mean. It is the kind of album that sweats bullets. The echoes from the good old past come from all over the tracks, however, some of them are easier to name the influence as Remorse that addresses right to Girschool Demolition Boys” era – believe me or not. I wonder why a great band such as Girschool do not get all the honors they deserve. The guitars are pure Kelly Johnson’s prowess. Add to that the incredible speed that tracks as Storm Of Steel reach only to remind us that time bands were trying to defy the speed of light. Fasttrack,” has not only the speed, but the vigor of the Hardcore that were the roots of Thrash metal and all Extreme Metal in general.

An interesting fact about Savage Mania is that they were not only inspired by bands as Morgana Lefay, but they are actually their offspring as vocalist Charles Rytkönen and bassist Fredrik Lundberg are the fathers of Oliver Rytkönen and Viktor Lundberg. Like father, like son. The heritage of Metal music cannot be heard only from the music.

If you are still into some raw and vigorous Thrash Metal music, “Demonic Assault” was taylor-made for you.
