SCORPIONS Cancel India Tour Due To Medical Reasons

German hard rock legends SCORPIONS have officially cancelled their upcoming India tour, which was scheduled to take place later this month.

The news was confirmed by promoter BookMyShow Live, who issued a statement addressing the situation and the reason behind the sudden cancellation: “We regret to inform you that the SCORPIONS ‘Coming Home’ India Tour scheduled in Shillong on April 21st, Delhi-NCR on April 24th, Bengaluru on April 26th and Mumbai on April 30th, stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans,” they added. “The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule. All the tickets purchased on bookmyshow will be automatically refunded within 7-10 working days.”

While full details regarding the medical issues have not been disclosed, the announcement comes as a major disappointment for fans across India, many of whom had been eagerly awaiting the band’s return.

The run of shows was set to mark SCORPIONS’ long-awaited comeback to India, their first since 2007—nearly 18 years ago. As part of their ongoing “Coming Home” world tour celebrating 60 years as a band, the group had lined up performances in multiple cities, including Shillong, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

The tour itinerary included an April 21 show at the RBDSA Sports Complex in Shillong, followed by an April 24 performance at HUDA Grounds in Gurugram (Delhi-NCR), April 26 at NICE Grounds in Bengaluru, and a final stop on April 30 at Jio Gardens in Mumbai.

Despite the unfortunate cancellation, the band had expressed strong enthusiasm about returning to the country. Speaking to Rolling Stone India earlier this month, frontman Klaus Meine shared his excitement ahead of the planned shows: “We still enjoy what we’re doing. We’re still very passionate about things and very excited to go on this road ahead.

“We’re still standing, god knows how long we can do this. We’re getting older every year, but when we see the fans in front of the stage, we get so much energy and power back from our fans that we’re still young at heart,” he added.

At this time, there is no word on rescheduled dates, though the band has expressed a desire to return to India when circumstances allow.
