Willingly or not, Sepulchral with “Beneath the Shroud” let the fan know exactly that Hardcore is one of the most important influences of Extreme Metal. Pay close attention to the pace the band imposes and how vocals sometimes are so debauched. In essence those are two features Hardcore bands left for Extreme Metal bands. The straight-ahead guitars with very few leads are also features from Hardcore. It is also interesting to realize that “Beneath the Shroud,” from head to toe has the same cadence and mood. Interestingly, the album commences with the intro “A Pact Written In Bone Dust” that leaves no clue of what is to come.
Title track “Beneath the Shroud” goes right to it with an intense energythat comes from the bass and the drums giving the pace I aforementioned. Pay close attention to the vocals that showcases the debauchery I also aforementioned. It is the track tha gives the tone of the album; straigh-ahead, simple, and effective. So is following track “Abandoned Feretrum“ with its insane pace and very straight guitars, which in this case are kind of lost in the middle of such distortion, but that’s the idea. things change a little with “Torchless Crossroads” whose slow initial guitars give the tone, however, suddenly the fan is overwhemed with tons of distortion of the sonic mass Sepulchral built. On the other hand, “Cloaked Spectres” delivers the fan some intrusive and sharp guitar leads that distinguish the track from all the album. Pay very close attention to the spanking the drummer does in it.
“Beneath the Shroud” is an album for hardcore Death Metal fans who are in the verve of a nervous breaking down. The album is nervous and full of really old school references as the Hardcore elements cited before. Its insane pace takes the fan to another level of insanity. It is the album to kill any nostalgia there is around.
Sepulchral “Beneath the Shroud” was released on December 05th via Soulseller Records.

I’m just a lucky guy who has chosen metal to live with for a long time. Metal changed my life for good. It made me more confident and stronger. Metalheads are naturally far away from the mass mediocrity and don’t accept impostures from anybody else. Metal is more than music, it’s a life changing oportunity!
