SEPULTURA Set Date And Venue For Last Show Of Their Career

Sepultura 2026

Brazilian heavy metal pioneers SEPULTURA have officially revealed the date and location of what will be the final performance in their storied career. The band’s last-ever concert will take place on November 7 at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu (Pacaembu Stadium) in São Paulo, Brazil, bringing their decades-long journey to a close in their home country.

The announcement was shared directly with fans via the band’s official social media channels, where they marked the occasion with a short but emotional message: “On November 7th, SEPULTURA will take over the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu for the final show in the band’s history.”

“One final night. A historic celebration. More than epic.”

“More information coming soon.”

The show will serve as the closing chapter of SEPULTURA’s ongoing “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour, which has been unfolding globally as a tribute to the band’s four-decade legacy. The trek officially began on March 1, 2024, with a sold-out performance in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. That opening night also introduced fans to the group’s current drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who joined the lineup following his run with crossover thrash outfit SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.

While the farewell tour continues to make its way across stages worldwide, SEPULTURA have also remained active in the studio. Last month, the band released a new EP titled The Cloud Of Unknowing via Nuclear Blast. The release included the singles “The Place” and “Beyond The Dream,” with the latter featuring a collaboration with Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of iconic Brazilian rock band TITÃS.

Alongside the final tour and new music, SEPULTURA are also working on an ambitious live project designed to capture the energy of their last run on the road. The band is recording a large-scale live compilation album featuring 40 songs recorded across 40 different cities, aiming to document the intensity and atmosphere of each stop on this farewell journey.

Speaking about life after SEPULTURA, guitarist Andreas Kisser has previously reflected on the band’s decision to eventually step away and the creative freedom that may follow. In an interview with Jarek Szubrycht at Poland’s Mystic Festival, he explained: “Since I joined SEPULTURA in ’87, we never stopped — never,” Andreas said. “Even on the lockdown, we created an album. When we changed singers and managers and stuff, we were always rehearsing, we were always working towards the future and et cetera. And it feels like it’s a good momentum because we’re still young enough to be motivated to start something else from scratch. Of course, I’ll be involved with music. That’s what I do, I love to do. I’m not gonna quit SEPULTURA to sell cars or something like that. I’m gonna keep doing music. I still study music and et cetera.

“I’m not really concerned too much about future,” he continued. “Like I said, we have another two years of this touring. I like to enjoy the moment, like we are doing here. Every show has been amazing. It’s a fantastic feeling. I have so many different options. I already have another band called DE LA TIERRA. I have a radio show in São Paulo with my son for 13 years now. And I have some parallel things that I already do that I might have more time, really, to dedicate to those. And I also wanna do a guitar lesson, finally a video talking about my style, SEPULTURA‘s music, acoustic guitar and stuff, to put more time on that and really do that. A lot of people ask for that as well, so I wanna really have more time to do this. And I know so many musicians, so many bands. I’m really talking to people, ‘Oh, let’s do this, let’s do that.’ I have an idea to do a reggae project with Derrick [GreenSEPULTURA frontman]. Who knows? [Laughs] I like to keep it open. I mean, it’s a little scary, but at the same time it’s very exciting to feel that freedom that we could really express and really see what happens. I think that’s why we are stopping — to get away of the comfort zone, to get away [and] artistically having different air to breathe.”

Frontman Derrick Green has also recently spoken about what comes next after SEPULTURA, revealing that he is already preparing for a new musical chapter and assembling a new band while the farewell tour continues.

In an interview with U.K.’s Heavy Matters, Green made it clear that his creative path is far from slowing down: “There’s so many possibilities, endless possibilities. “I’ve always been into photography, and I will continue to do that. I’ve been really into fitness and health and this plant-based world, and I’ll continue doing that. And I will continue doing music. I definitely would love to do another band. And I’m putting that together as we speak.”

Green also explained that the process of forming a new group is both exciting and challenging, especially after spending decades in a tightly bonded lineup.

“Trying to align with certain people, it’s like starting from scratch — well, not necessarily from scratch, but it’s definitely a challenge to form that connection with people again — different people. After being with a band for so long — I’ve been especially with [SEPULTURA guitarist] Andreas [Kisser] and [SEPULTURA bassist] Paulo [Xisto Pinto Jr.] for so many years, since like 1998 — so it’s interesting to think back and then now be where we’re at, where it’s just, like, ‘Okay, I’ll try to find other people to jam with.’ It’s exciting, I have to say.”
