More details are beginning to emerge about the long-awaited return of Ozzfest. During a recent episode of The Osbournes Podcast, recorded in early February, Sharon Osbourne shared new information about how the legendary festival could make its comeback in 2027.
According to Sharon, the revived Ozzfest will begin in the United Kingdom with a special two-day event at Villa Park, the home stadium of Aston Villa F.C..
“We wanna do two days in Aston Villa and then come to America,” she explained. “And we wanna hear from everyone where we should go in America. And also we’ve gotta find a lot of young, new talent, because that’s what [Ozzy] would want.”
Sharon’s comments came as she discussed the festival’s future with her son Jack Osbourne, who noted that the first revived edition of Ozzfest will include two days in Birmingham followed by another two-day event somewhere in North America.
“Yeah. And then see how it does. And then if people want it, we’ll be there [in the] following years,” Sharon said.
Unlike the classic version of the festival — which spent years touring across the United States and beyond — the 2027 edition is expected to be a smaller launch event rather than a full traveling tour. However, Sharon indicated that the festival could return to the road in 2028 and beyond if fan demand is strong enough.
Ozzfest originally launched in 1996 as a traveling festival founded by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, eventually becoming one of the most influential heavy music festivals in the world. Over the years it helped introduce countless young bands to larger audiences while also hosting many of the genre’s biggest names.
Looking back at what made the festival unique, Sharon reflected on the atmosphere that set Ozzfest apart from other events.
“It was more fun. When you go to other festivals, everybody’s so uptight,” she noted. “But that was always the thing about our festival. There was never anybody jockeying for position or thought they were better than anyone else. It was a summer camp.”
She also hinted at at least one legendary name she would like to see involved when the festival returns, adding that she wants to “see Rob Halford there,” suggesting that JUDAS PRIEST could potentially appear at a future installment.
With the first dates now taking shape, the next chapter of Ozzfest appears to be officially on the horizon — beginning in Birmingham before potentially expanding again in the years to come.
