Old school death metal has been attempted by many in recent years and many have failed in terms of being able to keep the brutality and interesting sound that its known for, but Azooma’s debut album shows that they’re here, they’re mean, and that they know old school death metal like no Iranian metal band before them (they’re from Iran, that’s why I said that).
“A Hymn of the Vicious Monster” is a masterfully done debut that tells of the inner demons of man and how truly horrifying the transformation from normality into a beast is, and the telling of that in 34 minutes with 6 tracks is an impressive feat to say in the least.
This album is something that all fans of death metal loaded with technicalities and raw everything should have their mouths watering over “A Hymn of the Vicious Monster”, and keep their eyes peeled because Azooma is recorded their first full length as you read this shit and is to be expected within the year via Xtreem Music. So prep your butts.
