Electrocution – Psychonolatry

It’s been two years and half that I’ve been writing reviews and articles to this wonderful page. It’s been such a delight to have the opportunity to premiere the releases of so many fantastic bands I have run into. But it bothers me that I still can’t guess what is to come when I open the archives and get started to them. I still think otherwise of some bands as I did with Electrocution and “Psychonolatry” which I had no idea of what was to come.

The first thing that comes to mind is that Electrocution have a prominent bass playing taking the lead in many songs and also helping to update their music. As you all know it’s not usual to highlight bass playing here, though I always do it when the bass playing calls the eye. I explain better; the bass in Electrocution uses electronic effects to give the idea of a modern playing Metal as he does in “Warped.” But it’s not only that, Mat Lehmann, that’s the name of the guy, is very resourceful. The bass in “Bulåggna” sounds as if it were those effects Modern Metal guys use bringing more resources to the band.

“Psychonolatry” is an album which deals perfectly with the modern and the old school Death Metal. No surprise as Electrocution are on the road since the 1990s. Time has taught them new lessons. “Psychonolatry” are fierceful and ruthless as old school, but resourceful as modern with the bonus of well-played guitar interventions with sharp guitar solos. All its eleven tracks are good samples of a well-done Metal carnage. They are straight ahead and high-velocity tunes just the way old school Death Metal fans love, and again, with insane and shredding guitar solos. Electrocution are the band to listen very loud to disturb your popper neighbors. Show them no mercy!

Electrocution “Psychonolatry” will be released on February 08th via Goregorecords.
