FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE’s ADAM SCHLESINGER Dies At 52 From Coronavirus

FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Schlesinger died (1 April) from complications related to COVID-19. He was 52.

Schelsinger’s lawyer, Josh Grier, confirmed the news of Adam’s passing to Rolling Stone. Schlesinger was hospitalized in March and tested positive for the coronavirus. At the time, he was placed on a ventilator and heavily sedated.

Schlesinger also got involved with film and television, notably writing the title track for the 1997 Tom Hanks film That Thing You Do.

The pandemic’s global death toll has reached over 46,000, while the global number of cases has surpassed 922,000, according to the WHO, which is the health agency of the United Nations.
