KISS’ PAUL STANLEY Talks About Iconic ‘Rock & Roll All Nite’

Kiss’ “Rock & Roll All Nite” is one of the most iconic Heavy Metal/Hard Rock anthems of all times. I have no doubt about that as well as Gene Simmons is the most long-tongued man in the world. That said, Paul Stanley talked to 77 WABC about the lyrics and what inspired him to write that so iconic song. Here’s what he said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):

Addressing the notion that people tend to assume that the concept of “partying” includes alcohol or drugs, Paul said that although he enjoys “a good glass of wine” every now and then, the idea of the song is more about celebrating life.

The musician said:

“When I was writing, it – naive or not – was really about celebrating, and it wasn’t about getting high or getting stoned or anything like that. It was, ‘I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day. I wanna have a great time and make the most of life.'”

He added:

“And that’s really what both my point of view and KISS’s point of view has always been – to celebrate life and to make the most of life – because, as far as I know, we don’t get a second chance. So this is our bite of the apple. So, make the most of your life.”

Paul recently revealed that “Rock and Roll All Nite” will be the final song KISS will ever perform, sharing plans to rock the tune as the last encore at the final show of the group’s ongoing farewell tour.
