OVERKILL have released a photo on their Facebook page, which shows a picture of not only their frontman Bobby “Blitz Ellsworth, but also that of VIO-LENCE and former MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel as well as METAL ALLEGIANCE founders Mark Menghi and Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, ex-DREAM THEATER) in some studio together.
There technically doesn’t seem to be any info on what Blitz, Demmel, Menghi and Portnoy were doing together, but the OVERKILL Facebook page simply says, “More info soon…”, which could mean that some activity under the METAL ALLEGIANCE banner – either new music or at least one live appearance – will take place in the not too distant future.
METAL ALLEGIANCE – who also feature MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and TESTAMENT guitarist ALEX SKOLNICK – released their most recent album Volume II: Power Drunk Majesty last September on Nuclear Blast. A third record is reportedly in the works.
