MOTÖRHEAD Forced To Cancel Monsters Of Rock Performance Due To LEMMY’s Health Issues

Classic Rock Roll Of Honour

MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cancel its performance at the Monsters Of Rock festival in Brazil after the frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, took ill.

As replacement for MOTÖRHEAD, the other two members of the band — guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee — will take part in a jam session with SEPULTURA‘s Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green, along with other guests.

Back in 2013 Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel), causing the cancelation of a number of the band’s European festival shows.

Asked if his illness in 2013 has made him more aware of his own mortality, Lemmy said: “Death is an inevitability, isn’t it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don’t worry about it. I’m ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn’t complain. It’s been good.”
