Artisan News recently conducted an interview with SLAYER‘s Kerry King where they talked about Dave Lombardo‘s departure from band and Paul Bostaph‘s rejoining to SLAYER.

Asked what was the reason was for SLAYER‘s split with Lombardo in 2013, King responds:

“Misinformation, not coming from SLAYER. I feel bad for Dave, because he made some really bad choices based on listening to some really bad advice.”

Speaking about Bostaph‘s return to band, King said:

When we went to Australia, Jon Dette bailed us out, which I was super-thankful for, so I tried out Jon Dette and I tried out Paul on the same brand new two songs. I gave them each the exact same amount of time to learn them: ‘Here’s the parameters. Let’s see what happens.’ Then that was one of Jeff‘s last decisions in SLAYER, he voted Paul back in. And I wouldn’t go against Jeff. Jesus… For him to be paying attention and being able to make a decision, I was, like, f**kin’ sending sky rockets in the sky. Thank you! Jeff did something! So I wanted him to be a part, and he couldn’t. So, you know, I know from talking to Jeff that he wanted Paul. I think Tom wanted Paul, and I was already outnumbered, so it didn’t matter if I wanted Paul or wanted Jon, it didn’t matter.”
