Petition To Return SATCHEL’s ‘Pussy Melter’ Has Two Times More Signatures Than Petition To Withdraw It

The recently-launched petition requesting TC Electronic to return STEEL PANTHER guitarist Satchel‘s “Pussy Melter” tone print has managed to surpass the original petition against the product, fetching twice as many votes in approximately 24 hours.

At the time of writing, the pro-Pussy Melter petition is closing in on 2,000 signatures, while the the anti-Pussy Melter petition is still a few dozen signatures short of its 1k goal.

As widely reported, the anti-PM movement came first, requesting that Satchel‘s “obviously sexist” tone print is removed from the TC Electronic catalog.

The second petition came to be after the tone print was removed, as an attempt to “assess the number of people in opposition to TC Electronics’ decision to remove or alter the product.” The creator pointed out:

This petition is in no way an adversarial act towards any of the people involved in creating the original petition which had the product removed. This is simply to assess the number of people in opposition to TC Electronics decision to remove or alter the product.

After the tone print was removed, Satchel has vowed to make things right by re-releasing the product under a “less offensive, more politically correct name of the ‘Butthole Burner.’” You can read about it here.
