SLIPKNOT, ANTHRAX, MASTODON, MOTÖRHEAD Among GRAMMY AWARDS Nominees

SLIPKNOT, ANTHRAX, MASTODON, MOTÖRHEAD and TENACIOUS D are among the nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 8, 2015 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.

The nominees in the “Best Metal Performance” category are as follows:

Also nominated in the “Best Music Film” category is METALLICA‘s IMAX 3D concert film, “Metallica Through The Never”.

The main nominations for the 57th annual Grammy Awards will be announced tonight by The Recording Academy when the TV special “A Very Grammy Christmas” airs at 9 p.m. on CBS.

This year’s Grammy Awards process registered more than 20,000 submissions over a 12-month eligibility period (October 1, 2013 – September 30, 2014), of which 17,144 remained valid.

Final ballots will go out on December 17, 2014, and will be due on January 16, 2015. After the final tabulation of votes, winners’ names — in 83 categories in 30 fields — will remain confidential in sealed envelopes until the 57th annual Grammy Awards.

“A Very Grammy Christmas” airs on the CBS Television Network on Friday, December 5 at 9 – 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new one-hour special will feature performances of holiday songs and current pop hits, as well as artists sharing favorite holiday memories and Grammy moments. The coveted “Album Of The Year” nominees will also be revealed on the broadcast.
