SLIPKNOT’s M. SHAWN CRAHAN’s Daughter Fought Hard Against Drug Addiction

Shawn Crahan

Gabrielle Crahan, the 22-year-old daughter of SLIPKNOT percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, was remembered in her obituary as a “social butterfly” with an “outgoing personality, cheerful attitude, compassion and loving heart.”

The obituary said Gabrielle fought hard against drug addiction and worked to help others who were also struggling.

“She fought it bravely, and no matter how many times she fell, she would always get back up again,” according to her obituary.

“If there was anything she wanted to leave behind in her memory, it was standing up for others, always being empathetic and compassionate and never giving up on the battle against addiction,” the obituary said.

Gabrielle has died from an apparent overdose, as TMZ finds out.

Police and the fire department responded to a 911 call to a Hollywood home Saturday and found Gabrielle Crahan, 22, from Des Moines, Iowa.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that there was drug paraphernalia and evidence of narcotic use on scene, and Gabrielle has a history of drug use. Authorities are still investigating, and her cause of death is pending toxicology testing, but the outward signs point to drugs.

Gabrielle died just two days after proudly showing off an Alcoholics Anonymous coin she’d been given to mark five months sobriety.

“5 months” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a smiling selfie.

On May 22nd, Crahan has posted a statement thanking the fans for the love and support.

He wrote: “Firstly: ChantelAlexandriaGageSimon and I would like to thank everyone for the endless amount of love, prayers, thoughts and kindness we have been receiving. While it is not possible for me to read and respond to each individual message & comment right now, I want you to know that we can feel the energy shared and we are so grateful. You have all proven that there is empathy, positivity, & strength in this community that we call humanity here on Earth.”
