Tome of the Unreplenished – Cosmoprism: The Theurgy – Act I

There is a realm somewhere in the deep dark abyss of music that few very rarely venture to. It’s a very menacing place where dark energies are constantly swirling about, and every so often it’ll coalesce into something very foreboding. Something that cannot be contained by any one person, yet there are people out there who takes slices of this darkness and mold it into a sound that can only be described as noise. But it’s bands like Tome of the Unreplenished that take things to a whole new level that before was thought unreachable by mankind. And with their latest piece of “Cosmoprism: The Theurgy – Act I”, this band really shows that even a black hole can have its very own soundtrack, and it’s truly something else entirely. The five tracks of this album are the stuff of nightmares manifest while there is a fair amount of composition and form to this, Tome of the Unreplenished accomplished the task of making music that is unironically labeled as noise entertaining, but in a very unsettling way that makes quick work of getting under the listener’s skin. Incorporating elements of black metal in with their abstract sound, “Cosmosprism” is a unique album both in terms of the experience and the sense that it continuously brings in every single track throughout its contents to make it a dark, foreboding trip that the weak minded should not go on. Every single track is a very mind-bending piece that with each listen takes you deeper into the madness and chaos that Tome of the Unreplenished has somehow created with their own hands. To call “Cosmoprism” a venture would be an absolute understatement, for Tome of the Unreplenished has made an album like no other, pulled off a sound that feels so primitive and clandestine I still can’t believe it, and explores territories thought too dark to explore before and yields stunning results. My favorite part, though? The album title ends with “Act I” meaning there could possibly be subsequent releases that follow a similar pattern or path like “Cosmoprism”. If that becomes a reality, then I will literally be throwing my entire wallet at my computer screen because I’d pay so much f*cking money to see that sh*t!
