One of the many things that I love about metal is how transcending it can truly be, and some bands take to all new heights every once in a while. For example, you just don’t see a band releasing a one song album that is over 40 minutes long in total and actually have it be something mind blowing. The last time that happened to me was over a year ago, but now that drought has come to a satisfying end as Wolvserpent’s upcoming album, “Aporia:Kāla:Ananta”, is the stunning piece of heavy art that I had been waiting for. Coming to an awesome 40 minutes long, “Aporia:Kāla:Ananta” encompasses everything great about metal to me. The perfect word for this album has to be “cinematic” simply because there is so much contained in this album that ranges from a hypnotic symphony to a crushingly brutal presence, and it’s just fascinating to me how well they flow together and create such a unique experience that you rarely ever come by anymore. Then there’s the vocals. They become part of the ambiance itself and helps create an even greater sense of atmosphere to add to the transcending feel of “Aporia:Kāla:Ananta” which comes full circle to help make the album an absolutely mammoth piece of not only metal but music. When I say that Wolvserpent have created the most forward thinking, innovative, and stunning album to come out so far this year, I mean that “Aporia:Kāla:Ananta” is one of those albums that everyone needs to devote a part of their lives to, for this is a grand experience that cannot be missed. If you ask me, this record gets a full five stars and a 100% score for it has got everything you could possibly want and more.
