According to Daily Herald, a woman reportedly set fire to two church buildings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Orem, Utah. She also wrote “Satan Lives” on the door jam in permanent marker.
Orem Police Department posted on their Facebook page that Jillian Nicole Robinson, aged 18, caused “at least” $600,000 damage to the pair of church buildings.
She has been arrested on suspicion of arson (a second-degree felony) and burglary (a third-degree felony) and is being investigated for criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. The latter charges are both class B misdemeanors.
It is believed that the fires were started in the early hours of Friday morning (March 30) and the Orem Police Department responded to reports of a fire inside a church at roughly 1:50AM. Using fire extinguishers, they were able to put out the small fires, though the damage left behind was significant.
