SLIPKNOT is set to celebrate the 25th milestone of their iconic 1999 self-titled album with a North American tour in the summer of 2024.
Dubbed the “Here Comes the Pain” tour, KNOCKED LOOSE will accompany them as direct support throughout the entire journey. Additionally, ORBIT CULTURE and VENDED, which features the sons of SLIPKNOT members Corey Taylor and Clown, will share opening responsibilities across the two legs of the tour.
The first leg commences on August 6th in Noblesville, Indiana, culminating with a show in Toronto on August 17th. Following this, the second leg begins on September 7th in Auburn, Washington, and concludes with the newly revealed Knotfest Iowa festival on September 21st in Des Moines, SLIPKNOT‘s hometown.
“We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that,” says SLIPKNOT guitarist Jim Root. “We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours — those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”
Crahan added: “Every time I’ve walked on stage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up.
“But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones. So we’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen! Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture — that disease. And you’ve been infected.”
