SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan‘s daughter, Gabrielle, has died from apparent overdose, TMZ reports.
Police and the fire department responded to a 911 call to a Hollywood home Saturday and found Gabrielle Crahan, 22, from Des Moines, Iowa.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that there was drug paraphernalia and evidence of narcotic use on scene, and Gabrielle has a history of drug use. Authorities are still investigating, and her cause of death is pending toxicology testing, but the outward signs point to drugs.
Gabrielle died just two days after proudly showing off an Alcoholics Anonymous coin she’d been given to mark five months sobriety.
“5 months” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a smiling selfie.
Shawn posted a statement yesterday thanking the fans for the love and support.
He wrote: “Firstly: Chantel, Alexandria, Gage, Simon and I would like to thank everyone for the endless amount of love, prayers, thoughts and kindness we have been receiving. While it is not possible for me to read and respond to each individual message & comment right now, I want you to know that we can feel the energy shared and we are so grateful. You have all proven that there is empathy, positivity, & strength in this community that we call humanity here on Earth.”
He said the funeral will be held on Sunday, May 26, and that flowers can be sent to the Scottish Rite Consistory in Des Moines, while cards and condolences can be addressed to Iles Funeral Homes in Des Moines.
