In a heartwarming moment that added a personal and emotional twist to an already historic night, SLIPKNOT DJ Sid Wilson proposed to longtime partner Kelly Osbourne backstage during Ozzy Osbourne’s final-ever performance with BLACK SABBATH.
The surprise proposal took place behind the scenes at Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5, where 42,000 fans gathered to witness the Prince of Darkness take the stage one last time. But after the show, the spotlight turned to a private family celebration — and a life-changing question.
Kelly, the daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, shared a video of the touching moment on her Instagram, simply captioned: “Oh and this happened yesterday!”
The video shows the iconic metal family relaxing after Ozzy’s farewell performance, surrounded by close friends. As the group gathered, Sharon Osbourne, seemingly aware of what was about to happen, hushed the room with a knowing grin: “You’ve got to be quiet!”
That’s when Sid dropped to one knee in front of Kelly, who was dressed comfortably in leopard-print pants and a black hoodie. With Sharon and Ozzy watching, Sid took her hand and declared:
“I want to spend the rest of my life with you — and ask in front of all of our family and friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”
In classic Ozzy fashion, the moment was briefly interrupted with his signature humor as he joked: “F** off, you are not marrying my daughter!”* prompting laughter from the entire room.
Kelly looked stunned, turning toward Sid with an open-mouthed expression as he slid the engagement ring onto her finger.
The couple have been together for several years and welcomed their son, Sidney, in 2022.
